AdviceLine
Every GlobalXperience traveler receives red24’s AdviceLine service for free; it comes standard with any GlobalXperience package. Your membership is automatic for the first four weeks of your Xperience, after which it’s renewable at your discretion for a monthly cost of ₤5, by calling GlobalXperience. red24’s AdviceLine services include:
• Online security advice and information: A detailed web-based archive of security advice, ranging from tips on dealing with stalking to advice on identity theft. You'll also have access to up-to-date country profiles, which are updated with information on national security, political stability, travel logistics, important contacts and cultural considerations.
• E-mail updates: Receive current and in-depth daily e-mail updates, covering any potential threats to your personal security and travel arrangements.
• Security risk analysis report: Receive destination-specific security reports, keeping you informed of cultural, political and travel-related considerations.
• 24/7 phone service: Instant access to trained security personnel, ready to provide advice for any concern (ID theft, travel, home security) or to assist a member in immediate danger.
Action Response
If you’re going to be on the road for a while and want to protect yourself against any eventuality, consider upgrading to red24’s Action Response service. A once-off fee of ₤150 affords you a full year’s membership in the gold standard of global security policies, including:
• Physical response and rescue services: Immediate, on-the-ground physical response to rescue you from a life-threatening security situation anywhere in the world. All costs incurred are covered by red24. You’ll also be given access to specialist support and counselling should you fall victim to ID theft or a serious crime such as rape, stalking or robbery.
• ID Theft: Should you fall victim to ID theft, a specialist will walk you through the correct procedures to reinstate your credit status and to protect you from further attacks.
• SMS/Text messaging: Receive important destination-specific security information sent directly to your mobile phone. You’ll also receive information alerts about any suspicious credit file activity.

• Equipment: Ensure that you have all the equipment you’ll need before you leave – it can be difficult or impossible to find it when you arrive. For backpacking trips make sure you have an appropriately sized backpack, a sleeping bag, and so on. Also, try to travel as light as possible! You’ll be surprised how little you need, and you don’t want to be saddled with a heavy backpack.
• Be aware: When travelling, try to maintain awareness of your environment at all times. Don’t leave your luggage unattended, don’t flaunt your money or expensive possessions (like digital cameras) and trust your instincts – if a situation doesn’t feel right, calmly remove yourself.
